Chippewa Falls, WI

Wisconsin Winter Fest 2009

Who?

There are no actual age limits but it is geared more for older teens and 20s. Married Couples are welcome also (there will be separate lodging for them if they come).

What?

The idea of winterfest is similar to that of a retreat or conference, with an emphasis on group Bible Study rather than pulpit ministry, and a smaller group to encourage closer fellowship. We will have some solid fellowship, good food, and hopefully better spiritual food! There will be 2 or 3 Bible study sessions daily (lead by the guys). This is not a organized meeting of the church so we will have opportunities for questions and comments from both guys and girls.

A few other activities might include:

  • Skiing
  • Sports (Gymnasium rented for indoor soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, etc.)
  • Hiking
  • Snowshoeing
  • Board/Card Games
  • Exploring museums, nature centers and other camp facilities
  • more!

Where?

Beaver Creek Reserve – A beautiful camp between Eau Claire and Fall Creek, WI.

When?

Whatever days you can make it for! We would like to see you for the whole event, but sometimes it’s not possible so we welcome you for however long you are able to come. The program will run from December 29th through January 2nd (if any wants to come a day or two early to help prepare let me know, and we can arrange for you to stay at my parents house)

Why?

Our purpose is to have a time of edifying prayer and study, while leaving plenty of time for the blessings of fellowship too!

Notes:

  • The event is free of charge. If you want to help out, the fee for lodging at Beaver Creek Reserve is only $45/person for four nights. If you are a poor soul, then don’t worry, the Lord will provide. Also, to help with some food expenses it would help if you are able to bring small dishes (chips, pop, cookies, etc).
  • RIDES: If you want to come and aren't sure a ride is available, let me know! Someone is probably coming from your area as we have people coming from every direction and they just might have some extra room in the car to work out a car pool!
  • MUSICAL TALENTS: Please bring your instruments, voices, and practiced songs (for special numbers) to share at possibly a nursing home, and/or with each other. We plan to utilize music to bless each other as well as share God's truth with the lost. If you have talents that you don't know where to put it, let me know and I will organize something.
